Our goal is to reach out to those who have experienced the death of a spouse or life partner and offer them different support and social activities throughout the grieving process. Widowed Persons Service is not a membership-based organization and we do not charge for our services.
Support Group Meetings
Support groups address topics of interest for those who are in an active stage of grief and are struggling to navigate. These groups are facilitated byWidowed Persons Service staff and/or volunteers who also have been widowed and can empathize with the life change you are experiencing.
- There are 5 Monthly support group meetings offered through the greater Grand Rapids area.
- An additional 6-week intensive study is held multiple times throughout the year. The setting offers the bereaved a safe place to express their feelings, concerns, and problems to others who have “been there” and can offer support out of their own experiences.
- Growth Through Loss seminar is offered annually and designed especially for those who have been widowed two years or less
